Anglian Water tenders £22m+ Maintenance, Repair and Operations materials contract

Anglian Water has gone out to tender with an AMP6 Maintenance, Repair and Operations materials contract worth an estimated £22.4 million.

The water company is proposing to award framework agreements to a limited number of suppliers with a comprehensive capability to service the requirements for generic MRO products for both Anglian Water and its partners. Anglian is looking to appoint up to 10 suppliers to the frameworks.

Anglian Water is now inviting expressions of interest from suppliers to participate in their strategic sourcing exercise for Generic Maintenance, Repair and Operations materials requirement for all parts of the business and their partners.

The frameworks will be let for 8 years to suppliers who can show a high level of capability, achieve material cost savings and business wide efficiencies by identifying continuous improvement opportunities to drive cost out of the process. Anglian Water's partners may also adopt the use of the Framework Agreements.

The water company said that in order to achieve a sustainable service for a diverse end user community, it recognised that a number of complimentary secondary suppliers would be required which initially may be numerous and diverse.

Following the award of framework agreements the primary suppliers appointed under the contract will be required, through collaboration with Anglian Water and the secondary suppliers to develop a plan to support the consolidation of the lower tier supply chain suppliers through product and service rationalisation and integration.

Anglian is anticipating relatively few primary suppliers, with the number of secondary suppliers being determined as the sourcing process develops.

The contract is divided into the following three Lots:

  • Lot 1. Tools — Hand and Power – estimated value £3.2 million
  • Lot 2. Mechanical Spares, Lubricants and Non-Process Chemicals – estimated value £12.8 million
  • Lot 3. Electrical Spares – estimated value £6.4 million

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 6th July – click here to access the contract documentation.
